Timor Black Bamboo
Timor Black Bamboo is usually dark brown, (but sometimes very black) with green or light brown stripes. The culms seem to be blacker in deep shade, and are glossy, upright and very beautiful. It's very popular; 'the' black bamboo at the moment. Becomes a bit shabby-looking in winter in exposed sites, but thrives in sheltered warm sites, where it can continue to shoot well into winter. Not a giant bamboo; grows to a medium size (around 12-15 metres). Home Contact Us
